Students of Vivek High School Chandigarh Claim the Grandmaster Trophy

In a grand celebration of talent and achievement, the Day3 of Vivek High Fiesta 2024 (VHF ’24) was joined by Lieutenant General Kanwaljit Singh Dhillon, PVSM, UYSM, YSM, VSM (Retired), as the esteemed Guest of Honour. Lt. Gen. Dhillon, who also serves as Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Mandi, graced the occasion by presenting awards to the victorious participants of the multifaceted event. Each competition saw individual and team winners, and the festival culminated in the awarding of the coveted Grand Trophy to the top-performing school, [School Name].
For three vibrant days, Vivek High School, Chandigarh, was the epicenter of diverse and dynamic activities. The fiesta included a Science Fest with enthralling components such as a science drama, quiz, café, and photography contest. The History Fest featured an engaging quiz and a postal stamp designing competition. Language enthusiasts showcased their prowess in English persuasive speaking, debate, and dramatic interpretation, while aspiring entrepreneurs and commerce students competed in the ‘Business Reel to Real’ and ‘Business Conclave’ events, which included tagline and logo designing sessions, and the innovative ‘Business Venture’ competition. The Moot Court proceedings were a heated display of wit and legal acumen.
Principal Renu Puri commended the participants and school staff at the successful execution of VHF ’24, which welcomed nearly 400 students from 22 schools across the country. She remarked, “We are delighted that VHF ’24 provided a platform for students to display their talents and enhance their knowledge. Our aim was to curate activities that make learning collaborative, engaging and enjoyable.”
Participants ranged from classes IV to XII, with teams from prestigious institutions such as Pinegrove School, Solan; Springdale, Amritsar; Vasant Valley, Delhi; and Scindia School, Gwalior.
The Victor Altoire Trophy was won by Vivek High School Chandigarh , but being the Host School the participants passed it on to the First Runner-up , Spring dales Amritsar.
Likewise the Vivek High Fiesta Grandmaster Trophy was presented to the first Runner-up, Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh.
During the closing ceremony, Lieutenant General Dhillon delivered an inspiring address, drawing on his illustrious military career. Notably, he is credited with orchestrating the Army’s counter-strategy against the Pulwama Terrorist Attack and the destruction of Terror Launch Pads in PoK. His final role in the Indian Army was as Director General of the Defence Intelligence Agency. He is also the author of the book Kitne Ghazi Aaye, Kitne Ghazi Gaye: My Life Story.
The Annual Vivek High Fiesta 2024 will be remembered as a magnificent celebration of youthful vigor, creativity, and intellectual prowess.
