A Vivek High School delegation of 12 students, namely, Jay Bhatia and Hamreet Kaur from Grade 9, Zorawar Singh, Bilawal Singh, Rubaniyat Sahi and Vivanna Shekhar from Grade 10, Shabeg Singh Pannu, Parwaan Singh Sekhon and Shaurya Sethi from Grade 11, Tiara Paige and Sehaj Singh Gill from Grade 12 attended Strawberry Fields High School MUN Conference from 26th to 28th July 2024.
The delegates deliberated on various agendas like,”Legal Loopholes in the Growing Tech Industry with special emphasis on UAVs”, “The Side Effects of Covid 19 Vaccinations and Promotion of Sustainable Development along with Minimising Environmental Damage”, “Allegations against China for Unprecedented Aggression against Indian Armed Forces in the Galwan Valley Region”, “Examining the Diverse Potential Consequences of India acting as a Potential Intermediary for Russian Oil Sales” etc.
Our delegates displayed their diplomatic outlook and won the following awards:
- Shabeg Singh Pannu (XI) represented Germany and won Best Delegate Award in International Civil Aviation Organization.
- Tiara Paige (XII) got High Commendation in Policy Contention
- Hamreet Kaur (IX) represented Japan and won Special Mention in United Nations Extraterrestrial Response Committee
- Zorawar Singh (X) represented Saudi Arabia and Bilawal Singh (X) represented Spain and got Verbal Mention in United Nations General Assembly I (DISEC)
Overall, it was a wonderful experience for the delegates as few of them participated for the first time.
