Adult delegate- Ms Jaspal Mann
The students were asked to conduct a short survey within their school about the consumption habits of their fellow students and present their data in the form of a poster. Around 200 students from 36 schools in 11 countries (Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, India, Namibia, Pakistan, South Africa, Tanzania, UAE, UK, and USA) participated in this conference. The welcome session set an inclusive tone, where the delegates shared their most consumed items through a Padlet link which was fun and engaging way to break the ice. The organizers then displayed onscreen the results of the surveys conducted by all the schools. In the break-out rooms, during baraza sessions, they had discussions on some methods to stop overconsumption of digital and natural resources. Through this conference, the students were enlightened on becoming responsible citizens by following sustainable habits in creating a healthier world.
It was indeed a golden opportunity and a worthwhile learning experience for the ‘VHS Team’.
