Craighouse School hosted a Zoom Postcard meeting on 15th November with the theme “Every Change Counts: Building a Sustainable Environment Together”.
Six student delegates namely Amrit Bawa, Aanvi Bahri, Vibhi Chadha, Meher Abrol, Tanish Gupta, Prabhleen Sandha from Eco Club along with the adult delegate Ms Bindiya Khanna attended the meeting. Over 150 participants from 30 schools in 10 countries participated in the Zoom postcard. As a prework, participants were asked to create a poster about how climate change has affected their country.
In the introductory part of the meeting, students from the host school shared a video on climate change and explained the posters made by the participating schools. Afterwards, the students were divided into different Baraza breakout rooms where the discussion on the effects of climate change and the initiatives take by the respective schools to combat the issue were discussed. Towards the end, the points discussed by each baraza group was presented by one of the group members.
The programme was very insightful and informative and helped students to understand that collective efforts by individuals can contribute to sustainable environment for the betterment of our planet.
