A two-day Inter-School Science Fest was organized at Vivek high school 38 to be Chandigarh. The VHS Science Fest began on 18th May and was in collaboration with the Chandigarh Vigyan Parishad under the guidance of Dr. Arvind Garg, General Secretary of the Chandigarh Vigyan Parishad and was also closely associated with Vibha and the Ministry of Culture, GOI.
It was a grand event filled with festivity and was decorated with a display of information about pre-independence Indian scientists. Day one was the day of registration of participating teams and participation in events organized for the day. The event officially commenced after the lighting of the lamp by the esteemed guests which were professors from PU and SGGSC, Ms. Renu Puri (Principal) and Ms. Kimmy Dhanoa (Vice Principal). A classical dance performance followed suit after which the quiz began. The quiz was fun and learning with questions and information on scientists of pre-independent, India. The Science games and Science Café were the next highlights of the day, which saw the complete involvement of students of the host school as well as the participating schools.
The second day began with the competition, ‘The Science Dare’, which involved three tasks based on different skills which had to be explained on the spot. The photography competition was also judged adjacently, after which we began the biggest event of the fest, the Science Drama. A group of students guided by teachers assembled the climate clock, lent to us by the Energy Swaraj Foundation, which is a symbolic representation or visualization of the time remaining until certain climate change thresholds or targets are reached. Marks were awarded to participants for two days and complied to announce the final winners. The award ceremony shortly began, and the grand champions declared were, Satluj Public School, Panchkula.
