THEME – “Service at School: Serving you or Serving me?”

Gordonstoun School in the UK hosted a Zoom postcard meeting on Wednesday 22 November 2023 with the theme “Service at School: Serving you or Serving me?”. This postcard was open to 13-15-year-old students.
The VHS delegates were:

5. Ridhi Ahluwalia – 9
6. Sanya Bhanwal – 9
Adult delegate- Ms. Jaspal Mann
The students were asked to create a one-slide image showing the best example of service that they have seen at their school and submit it prior to the meeting. Over 150 participants from 24 different schools and 10 different countries participated in this conference. During the Zoom postcard, all the delegates were warmly welcomed and introduced to the Gordonstoun campus, showcasing services that were provided by the students of the host school through a presentation. In the break-out rooms, during Baraza sessions, they had discussions on the importance of service in a student’s life, and how they feel when they help someone and their role models who constantly motivate them to serve people unconditionally. Through this conference, the students were inspired and enthralled to see that students around the globe are involved in innumerable service projects with a common goal: helping others and bringing a smile to their faces.
It was indeed a golden opportunity and a worthwhile learning experience for the ‘VHS Team’.
