Sunbeam School Lahartara hosted a conference for students (age range 12-14) in which over 250 students from 31 schools across the country and abroad participated.
The VHS delegates were:

The conference started with a grand inaugural ceremony which featured a captivating Flag March, showcasing student representatives from each school. The host school students presented a mesmerizing performance called “Invictus” followed by kindergarten superheroes charming the audience with a ramp walk. The conference was officially declared open by the guest of honour, Mrs. Rajbir Sandhu, and other Board Members of Sunbeam School. The morning event was concluded with a group photograph. The keynote speakers, Mr. Pratish Nair (Managing Director and Film Producer) and Mr. Vinay Mahajan (an Agricultural Engineer) eloquently explained the essence of a true leader and the concept of gratitude regardless of our circumstances. Three Barazza Sessions were conducted by the student barazza leaders on the theme and through captivating Pupperty, the delegates were reminded of their responsibility towards the environment. The delegates also visited Saranath, experiencing ancient manuscripts, and later at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies they marveled at the Tibetan book library and were enlightened by Dr. Wangchuk Dorjee Negi’s (Vice Chancellor of the Institute) session on selflessness and service to the community. Another keynote speaker Mr. Tenzin Tsundue (a Writer and an Activist) inspired the students by sharing insights on Tibet’s struggles. Mr. Pranav Mukherjee’s (Conference Curator) profound sessions enriched the delegates and a captivating Kathakali dance by renowned exponent Mr. Dibyendu Tarafdar left the attendees enthralled with his performance. Dr. Kannan Gireesh (CEO of Live Life Education) left the delegates with an insight that one needs to embrace accountability, shun complaints, and empower through an inspired mind. The delegates also witnessed the enchanting realms of Ishara Puppet Theatre, led by the renowned Dadi Padumjee, and his team. Round Square’s special interest groups reached a vibrant crescendo through spotlighting theatre arts and movie-making talents. The event concluded with a fun-filled social gathering, fostering camaraderie through melodies. This conference taught them some excellent life skills through fun yet meaningful experiences.
It was a golden opportunity and a worthwhile learning experience for the ‘VHS Team’.
